Hello! My name is Sajni Shah, and I am currently studying Biomedical Engineering at Cornell University. The idea for Bridging Care grew from both caring for my grandparents and volunteering at a local hospital serving an underserved community. I saw firsthand the emotional and financial hardships seniors face in accessing medical equipment and adult incontinence supplies—essentials that restore comfort, dignity, and independence. While volunteering at the hospital, I witnessed new mothers lacking postpartum essentials and discharged patients leaving without the basic resources they needed to recover safely. I also saw that many individuals and families from underserved communities struggle with food insecurity, and how access to nutritious food is essential for a healthy lifestyle. Determined to bridge these gaps, I launched Bridging Care, supporting new mothers, discharged patients, seniors, and families facing food insecurity in underserved communities—bringing relief, dignity, and hope to those who need it most.
